I have been so amazed at how people have been so willing to help out with my blanket project. It seriously baffles me. The generosity of people is so amazing.
I have been researching fabric and I found my absolute favorite but it is so expensive, which means less blankets. So I'll find something else or just buy them. I really think it would be so fun to make them...but I'm just grateful to be able to donate anything.
The bags I place the blankets in are fun to make. I stayed up till 3 in the morning stenciling them last year the night before Declan's birthday. I loved every minute of it. They weren't perfect and I was disappointed at first that they had flaws. But when I showed my friends they didn't seem to even notice.
I wash each blanket in the baby laundry detergent. The smell is amazing. When I pulled them out of the drier and held them all in my arms I took in their aroma. I wash my Declan blanket (that he didn't touch) every once in a while with that detergent. It maybe weird, but I love that smell.
I put the blanket requirements on the Declan's blankets page here and on Facebook. Let me know if you have any questions.
